Two evangelists began a Calvary Chapel work among tribal villages near the city of Gunupur. About ten hill villages were visited on a regular basis with three Children's Centers and four simple churches in operation among them. To reach some of these villages evangelists hike up jungle covered hills for ten miles or more.

The men who began God's work in this area have since abandoned their ministry. There is a history of violence in this area toward Christians and especially toward those who bring the gospel into new tribal areas. Please pray for the state of Orissa which suffers opression under the hand of extremist Hindu radicals. Please pray that God raises up a pastor for His people.
